Akila Mahanama

Graduate CommissioningManager 

Akila is a Graduate Commissioning Manager who joined WP3 at the start of 2025, with a background in mechanical engineering and a Master’s degree from the University of Warwick. He has a particular interest in sustainable design, data-driven decision making, and technical problem solving. He combines analytical rigour with hands-on project experience, bringing strong capabilities in system modelling, computational analysis, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Since joining WP3, Akila has worked to quickly adapt and contribute in the fast-paced world of commissioning, drawing on a strong work ethic and the support of the team around him. He is focused on developing deep technical knowledge and practical experience in building performance, with the goal of becoming a trusted specialist in commissioning and sustainable systems. He is driven by a desire to ensure buildings operate as efficiently as they’re designed, contributing to a more resilient and low-carbon built environment.

Outside of work, he enjoys playing and watching basketball and football, reading, and travelling the world whenever he gets the chance.
